Just Curious... Pluggin a socket into a socket, can you do it?
 

Ok, im really new in the chippin stuff, but i just molested my p28.
Now i keep gettin ideas, but i was thinking, if i could plug a socket (that you solder into the board) into a socket, than another one into that, so i raise the hight of the socket.
Now you may ask why, but i want the chip to be higher, cut a hole in the ecu's cover, and just pop the chip out w/o having to take anything apart. Its a convienence thing i guess.

yes, but why?? once you're done tuning there shouldn't be a need to keep swapping the chip back and forth. plus the cover adds a level of protection to the chip especially if you don't put the ecu in the kick panel. good idea in theory, but bad idea in functionality. only tighten the cover by the center screw if you want to be able to get the cover off quickly and/or leave the cover off while you're tuning. when you're done just put it back together. if you're interested in quicker changes of programs just get an ostrich.

only use center screw and left the cover off, did both of those tricks. BIT me hard when water got in has the hood hinge panel sealer, known issue for 92-94 Civics.

But with my Blundar chips, one was normal timing for use with N2O and other was tuned for mpg (44 on a Z6!).....we'd yet to get into a dual flip chip.

Failure to pull the mpg chip (my fault!) is was bent a rod in my Z6 on 100 shot.

I'm a newbie to the ECU stuff, let Blundar do his ECU magic while I do the tranny magic.
