Re:joseph what chip do i use?
Its configuration.
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/p...ts/doc0046.pdf You want the pdip. I 'believe' anything faster than 200ns is fine. Im sure Joseph will clear this all up ;) Is it just me, or is it hard to find 29c256 eeprom's? |

Re:joseph what chip do i use?
its 5v. if you have the epromer5 it automatically selects the proper voltage. 14 for $12 sounds like a decent price. I jsut ordered two and they were $5 apiece. oh well. how much is shipping?
|
Re:joseph what chip do i use?
see i duno how they sell them. it sez package = 14 but then "unit price"
jesus i am confused. |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?
J davis must be gone for the weekend. it looks like you get 14 for $12. thats a good deal as long as they don't kill you on shipping. I paid a flat rate of $6 shipping for my two, but thats all the money I got to spend right now, and i havne't found them anywhere else.

i mean am i suposed to send u a 3.29$ money order? seems kinda ------- dumb lol |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?

no just kiddin around just pm me your address and ill ship it out to ya when i get it. scarponze |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?

Re:joseph what chip do i use?
Those seem like good prices for flash proms.
FYI, the "C" in 29C256 means it's 5v standard memory. There's a bit of disagreement on what speed memory you should get... I've got a pile of 200ns PROMS that work fine, but other people get CEL 0's because 200ns memory isn't fast enough. I think it's that it would be more expensive to make a bunch of different speed memory, so the company that made the 200ns chips I have just made a big batch of 120 or 150 ns chips and stamped them all whatever. For safety sake, you want 150 ns or faster. |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?
why not 29c512 so you have the option of switching between two bins

Re:joseph what chip do i use?
hey guys, I have a 1989 honda CRX si and I have no idea what model my ecu is in the car, I am thinking that it is a PM6 but am not sure. I am also really interested in the ghettodyne system, and am not sure what or where i purchase the 28 pin EEPROM Socket, a couple of EEPROMs (ATMEL AT29C256)??? I think, 1 TTL to RS232 converter. (For serial communications) , and the rest of the kit. And where do I get the EEPROM's programmed? Sorry for writing this essay but I am not really willing to buy an MSD 6BTM unit and a FMU. Thnak you for your help

Re:joseph what chip do i use?
TurboCRX, scroll through the threads in this forum, you'll find your answers plus alot more. ;)
Joseph, how can I tell (via part#) if a 29c256 is a rewritable eeprom? Finding prices from $13-$3ish, I ASSume the higher priced ones are the rewritables. Enlighten us. |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?
29-series indicates it's a reflashable EPROM.
27-series require UV light to erase... the cheap plastic OTP (one time burn) ones don't have a window in them to shine UV light into. |
Re:joseph what chip do i use?
Graham's (MR_DR_PEP) link is where I got mine. They work great.
