as you know i am using th booster pump and an fmu for my wrangler, and a check valve between the map sensor. my mileage is actually getting alittle better. im am probably going to get a msd btm just because i here a small amount of pinging going. other than i doubt this motor will ------- blow, these 4.0l are freaking tanks and take one hell of a beating.

I got the VAFC and the BTM installed and it fired right up after setting up the AFC. Injectors should be here by Friday.

I'm not sure if u've ever messed with an AFC, but negative settings add fuel correct?

I hope ur gonna put a wideband on it to dial in that AFC....it shouldn't be too bad with the BTM.

I recommend AFC, BTM, and FMU. Seriously.

FMUs work best when they are low ratio; fuel pressures aren't out of control, so the fuel system can flow more without high pressure loss of efficiency. Large injectors and stock ECU = lololol for off-boost response, so you use the AFC to dial things in.... and dial the big MAP signal deflection timing advance out when you go into boost. At that point the FMU/injector and BTM combo does the work.

PS what style are your injectors? I might be able to find you a deal. Best part is you'd be buying them from a friend, so you don't have to tolerate my shipping baron jr tactics.

I got some bosch style #36lb units from Southbay Fuel injector. I paid $141 shipped and the guy is in New York and I talked to him on the phone. I still have the FMU but I think it will be benched on this truck. I may use it on my 99 XJ though.
