Japan OBD-II wiring question
HI! i'm converting a canadian CX Civic 98 into a 96 GSR with a 37820-P72-013 ECU, but all run good but i can't get my obd-ii code reader to read the code of the p72, but when i connect the stock ecu i reads ok! is there any wiring modification to do to make it work thanx!

Re: Japan OBD-II wiring question
you need a jdm code reader, noob.
either that or rewire the code reader to japanese wiring pinout standards on the plug |
Re: Japan OBD-II wiring question
I may be wrong, but if I recall correctly I believe the 96+ JDM ECUs are not OBD2, they have none of the OBD2 codes.
Jump the service check connector in the pass footwell and treat it like an OBD1 ride. |

Kool thanx !! i have been OK to remove all the steady fault code but now i got a 20-21-23 code when i rev the engine past 5 000 rpm.
21- is the vtec spool solenoid, and i don't think i got one on this engine 23- Knock sensor and i don't have on either. and when the cell light up, the engine is runny bad no more power? can someone point me to something ? |
Re: Japan OBD-II wiring question
um b18c has vtec and a knock sensor
|
Re: Japan OBD-II wiring question
Yes it have the Vtec solenoid but no vtec pressure switch, this is a japan engine and there is no knock sensor on the block!
