Issues after S-AFC install : HELP please

K, I've got a old skool 5 dial SAFC. I just installed it..I wanted to put this in before I did my actual turbo install to save time.

So I hook everything up...when I started the car, it hesitated before starting.. It seemed the idle was a little irratic and lower than before...I drove it around the block..and it seem like each time I was in neutral or put the clutch in (w/o gas) the engine was going to die...sounds like I'm not getting enough fuel...but I have all the settings at each RPM at '0' so it shouldn't have an effect.

Can anyone help...I don't want to have to bus it to work tommorow. Could my air in/out wires to the AFC not have a good connection? ??

Any help would be really appreciated!!

THANKS :-[

I would unwire it and have a pro do it, it took my vafc like three trys to get it wired correctly. now its great!

Yeah..I unhooked it..

The problem with the pressure (in/out) cuz I left all the wire taps less power to SAFC (rpm & ground)...just reconnected the pressure as it was before and it was fine.

SOOO...I know I've got the pins right. but something was up with pressure in/out...I'm going to attempt this madness again on the weekend. Geez I hope it's not the SAFC that's broken messed...the car selection is correct..

If anyone has encountered the same problem please let me know...in this thread.

Off to bed now...gotta rise early for work...why am i so dumb to work on my car on a weekday :-\

Re:Issues after S-AFC install : HELP please

Update:
Thx to 91AccordLX for showing me where I could get diagrams from APEXI. I've got the old skool AFC 5 dial so I was using its manual. When I went to the newer manual I noticed that the ground wire was in a different pin slot. The ground must be VERY important, as the newer AFC's there's 2 wires that need to tap into the same ground wire...on my model there's only one.

Has anyone hooked up an AFC and wasn't grounded properly? If so did you get the symptoms I got?

Anyhow, I'm going to try switch the ground wire I was tapping and hopefully it will work Ok.

Re:Issues after S-AFC install : HELP please

The issue was the ground...the old AFC wiring diagram was wrong where the ground was...I tapped the correct ground as per the new AFC diagrams and it works good now...

dizzog...didn't need to adjust it first cuz injectors and turbo aren't in yet....thanks for lookin out though ;) I'm installing these things ahead of time to save time when everything goes in.

So for anyone that gets these symtoms on the install, check the ground.

Thx
