Installing fuel pump kill switch in CRX..now it wont start

This is in a 91 CRX Si....
I checked the harness for the power wire. Found it then proceeded to solder a wire into the black wire that did not have power (I have 4 wires: yellow/black stripe, yellow, black/silver stripe, and black/silver dots). I cranked teh car on, flipped the switch and the car continued to run. Flipped it the otehr way, it still ran. Spliced into the black/silver dots wire and went through the same procedure. It did not cut the car off.

I got fed up with soldering and unsoldering wires (I'm a lazy dumbass..I know), so I decided to jump a wire from teh switch to the connectors for the remaining yellow wire. It sparked and the car cut off and hasnt started back up since. When you turn the key "on" the fuel pump does not pressurize the system.

Whast teh problem? Fuel pump blown? Main relay fried? I tried replaceing the small relay that is just behind the Hood release to no avail.

Also, could teh reason it shorted out be due to me jumping the wire while it was running? Should I solder the wires together at all times to avoid that (in other words: if I solder to that wire, once I fix this problem, will it still short something out)??

TIA!!!

BTW: I already checked all teh fuses and they are all fine....there is no fuel pump fuse ???

The fuel pump most certainly has a fuse...everything that is powered is from a fused source.

Check those again and make sure you reconnected all the wire back to the stock setup.

If that doesnt work...you fried something like the main fuel relay or pump motor.

you sure about that? Is it under the hood? I didnt see any blown fuses under teh hood and none under the dash are labled "fuel pump" or anything fuel related.

it could be labelled main relay or PGMFi relay but without looking at mine i cant remember

the car will run for a few seconds after you kill power to the pump. its the residual pressure in the line.
and a little honda d will run for a good while before sputtering and dying at idle

mine used to splutter and die straight away (DOHC ZC) when the relay fucked up

yea, I know it takes a while for it to die once you cut power. but once you cut power you can tell by the idlign characteristics (suck).

I solved my problem today....

Once I spent 3.5 hours under my car dropping the tank and putting my new walboro 255lph fuel pump in, and it still wouldnt start, (also tried a new main relay...no use) I checked all fuses AGAIN.

turns out one of them WAS blown....it was the "ALTERNATOR SOLENOID VALVE" fuse. WTF?

Yeah on that circuit ther are alot of other things on them besides the alternator. I had problem with my car to with that. Strange.
