Installed V-AFC need help on a few things..
 

Well, i just got my new toy and i let rickys2000si install it since i didnt wanna see him home depressed cuz of his car so i fed him a new toy to play with.. after installing it on my car it turns on and v-vtec does work and we kinda have an idea how to mess with it.. but its not saving our settings when i turn off the car.. are they all like this?

im running the stock engine with just this v-afc we didnt really mess with fuel stuff just to test it and then set it back to default 0 but it still wont save the v-tec activation points..

this is in a 1991 crx si with a D16Z6 still at obd0 using the v-afc instructions by mechanic_b for pm6 ecu.

You got a defective AFC. They use a non-volatile SRAM chip to save memory, sounds like it isn't working.

My AFC came to me, sat on a shelf for two weeks, and still had some settings on it from the previous owner when I wired it in.

Do you have access to a chip burner? There's some PM6 code set up with stock P28 fuel and ignition maps meant for stock 4400 rpm VTEC on the PGMFI Forum.

eh :( thats total ass i bought this brand ------- new.
Were gonna check the ground wires on it and try again if it doesnt work i will be one upset camper.

meh! never mind it works... those dickhead chinese / JDM! YO@@! instructions really sucked.. i downloaded the english pdf and got it working.

Here is what i did to get it to save the settings and run a basic map to get the car moving untill i turbo then go to a dyno.

Firstly, turn on the ignition and select option 3 "etc."
Select 1.Sensor Type and press Next. Use the up and down arrows to change the displayed values. In and Out both need to be set to 06. Then press the Prev key.
Select 2.Car Select. Here you set the number of cylinders and the throttle sensor type. Select Cyl and set to 4, assuming your car has 4 cylinders. Then select Thr and set so the arrow points to the top right hand corner. This means that the throttle only returns a voltage when opened.
Select 4.Sensor Check. Here is the display to check that there are voltage readings for the pressure sensor, throttle sensor, and cabin daylight sensor. All 3 should be returning a reading.
Whilst still on the Sensor Check option, hold the throttle fully open for 10 seconds. You should see the throttle sensor voltage rise. Then close the throttle for 10 seconds. This is done so the unit has readings to calibrate the throttle position.
Select 3.Grph Scale. You only really need to change the Ne setting. This setting should match the rpm output of your car. So for example, on my crx with a D16Z6 Sohc Vtec it will hit the red line at about 7200 rpm, so the range was set at 0 - 8000 rpm. This setting will allow you to set the maximum rpm from 6000 to 10000 rpm in increments of 1000.
You do not need to select option 5.VFD Bright. This setting is used to adjust the display depending on the light conditions. The unit will automatically change the display brightness dependent on the ambient light levels (Day, Dim, or Night).
To save and finalise the settings made, turn off the ignition. You can now safely start your engine.

Turn your ignition and set the parameters in the etc. mode as instructed in the manual. When setting the throttle type for Hondas, use ascending (arrow point to top right hand corner). This is required to get the initial set points so as not to damage your engine. When complete, turn off the ignition to store the values. You may now start your engine – hopefully!

You are now ready to change the settings to whatever you wish. This is undoubtedly best done while driving, so you can monitor the results of any changes you make, whether for the better or the worse.

i know.. im not gonna even bother.. you know i dont really drive that car.

ill wait till turbo setup is done and ill get it dyno tuned.

for now its fine.. i am getting a pod and a boost / A/F guage though like ASAP to see if its lean or rich.

friday i have off from work so ima get down and dirty and either jb weld that tranny leak or silicone. it also needs oil. after 5 min you can feel it like dry. i can imagine its lost an assload of oil already so ill refill it again i got 2 quarts around.
