a friend came over with a chipped p28 equivilent from the same person, with a map for the same motor with the same injectors with a t25, pluged it in my car started right up.

we put his chip in my ecu and it did not run. we put my chip in his ecu and it ran like ----. so my ecu is messed up and my chip has a bad map. tryin to contact the seller now

what car is this in? I just finished installing uberdata in my 96 civic and the base map that was supposed to be good wouldn't run my car at all, it was waaayyyyy too lean. every engine is different. try and get ahold of a wideband and definitely get a burner. maybe it just needs a good tuning.

Atleast check your plugs at the least but ya a wideband is realy needed or atleast find a tuner in your area worth the couple hundred bucks to have a car not blow up after a week

Just because your freind has a y8 also doesn't mean they're going to have the same tune. I had to drastically change a normal basemap for a Y7 on mine just to get it to run. If it starts up but just kind of dies off, like mine did, you need to check the fuel and the timming. make sure the base timing on your map is set to 12.50 not 16.50, the y7 and y8 are at 12 degrees btdc while obd1 d series are 16 degrees btdc(correct me if i'm wrong). you might not be getting enough fuel either. like i said i had to richen my base map like 20 points in uberdata before it would even run. try to get a wideband or at least an afr guage and you really need to just buy a burner so you can tune the thing yourself. hope you work it out man.

they were both un-tuned basmaps by the same person. all i know is my car ran on his ecu and chip, but no other comanation of my ecu/chip and his. so my ecu and chip were the problem. it was sent back to cray today hopefully he can fix it up or replace it asap.

strange that the chip and the ecu both didnt work...

either way, cray will get you set up, he's sharp.

I run the ECU's through my car b4 I sell em, makes sure the ECU's are good. It is almost always a chip problem, or a user error type thing.

I will get it done this weekend for ya. Been working all week.

Figured I should finish the thread up.

It turns out someone tried to do a O2 sensor mod on the ECU. Put the trans in backwards. No sticker on the outside, so I assumed that it was a P06. (:1 should have looked to be sure) So I am guessing that is why it wouldn't run very well for you.
