installed 450 dsm's, but i have a problem!

I started installing my 450cc blue tops, but I have a problem. I bored out my factory seals, and then I installed the injectors. I tightened the fuel rail and now the seals stick out of the manifold a little tiny bit and the injectors aren't tight enough because I can turn them with a little bit of force.. is this normal?

Also, I dropped one of my injectors and cracked the black plastic piece over the end of it in a couple spots, I super glued it back together, but I'm worried about it. Should I get a new injector or will it be fine?

Normal ----. You shouldn't have any problems.

If the plastic protector is broke, take it off, you dont need it unless you are clumsy an drop ---- all the time its just a protector

Are you sure it's just a protector? I thought maybe it changed the way the injector sprays or something? It doesn't seem to clip off, do I have to break it to get it off?

yes they are just protectors but once you take the plastic bit off dont drop it, i got 2 missing on my setup and you can bet 90% of the people on here running 450's have the same problem. I prized mine off with sidecutters but whatever floats yer boat, better it coming off now than in yer engine

Yeah stan you'll be fine without those caps. Mine had them all but I got lucky ;) And as far as your factory seals go, mine were a little loose too so i could spin them in the seal, but I have no leaks. Just check carefully for any leaks before you go and call it a day. I seriously spent a whole day making damned sure I wasn't pissing any gas after my injector install. But all tuned out fine ;)
