injectors+ AFC hack vs. FMU
I am plannin on turboing my d16y8 and I have been reading about the pro's and con's of FMU's and AFC hack'a. I am plannin on running between 6-8 psi on stock internals, what would be better for this set up. An AFC or FMU?

Re:injectors+ AFC hack vs. FMU
well the timing advancement caused by the AFC, although it seems like it can be fixed by a BTM, has me leaning towards an FMU. As well as the fact that an FMU would cost less. But I want to have a good setup, and I could save up a little money and go the AFC route if I was sure I could run it witout causing detonation (My motor is not exactly young at 158700 miles).
Another issue is that I have NO IDEA how to tune an AFC so that might be a slight problem.
any guidance would be appreciated

Re:injectors+ AFC hack vs. FMU
Even the worst tune on an AFC is better than an FMU IMO. Most people don't use BTM's with the AFC. I just retarded my timing a few degrees. It's simple. You can get an idea of where to set the AFC by looking at the "post your settings" thread. That should put you damn close to where you want to be.
