Ya the common wires do have 12v key on engine off. This is from a 92 civic just to give you some thing to look at. So all the injectors share a common power wire. Then the other wire is ground controlled by the ecu. You can test that wire with ohms. But it is important you unplug the ecu to test these wires. You can damage the ecu if you don’t. It is also a good idea to back probe the connectors with a small safety pin so you do not damage the connectors.

If you have continuity to ground you have a short to ground (so a3 to ground /ecu and injector unpluged). If you have no continuity from lets say a3 to injector 3 lite blue you have an open (ecu injector unpluged).

Thanks, that's what i was looking for.
It's pin A5 and the wire is light blue. He picked it u for $800, nice clean body, leather interior, wheels and an extra exhaust system. Motor runs like ---- but that will get fixed.
Thanks again.

Re: Injector #3 not working

Power comes from a common wire to the deadman's plug, supplies power via individual wires to each individual injector as well as purge, IACV, etc. So, if there is a ground path from injector to ECU and all the other injectors are powered *if it is a wiring problem* then it's the yel/blk wire between the deadman's plug and the injector.

I doubt it, though. You probablt have a stuck injector because the car sat for a while.

he tried a new/different set of injectors, sounds like he has a short. just going to have to trace it back and find it..

He doesn't have a short.

yeah you mean an open.

A short would keep that injector open constant and ---- ---- up.
unless it was pre injector it would blow the fuse and you'd have no injectors

Re: Injector #3 not working

Injector was replaced so it's not an injector problem, something with the wiring.
I will test the common power wire today and see what's up. Will let you all know the results at night.

Re: Injector #3 not working

JD was right, thank you. Everything came out fine with the wiring. the common wire carried 12v constantly to all 4 injector power wires. All 4 ground signal wires carried 5v ground through the ECU. Had a couple of injectors lying around and when i gave them some power they all clicked differently. So, i took cyl #2 inj and checked how it clicked when given power. Took a spare injector that sounded the closest to the #2 and put it in. Car runs much better. Don't really want to put my wideband into it because it's a stock piece of ----.

Still revs slow and doesn't have much power. The exhaust sputters, so im thinking the cat took a ---- or the piping is clogged. I'll try to run it open header to see if it helps. After all the car is 15 years old. Anything else that can cause a loss of power and slow revs?

LOL, has an after market no name intake. Exhaust sputters though. Checked spark plug #3 tonight and it still looks new, i don't know what the ---- is wrong with that ----. I have already tried new dizzy rotor and cap. Im gonna take a stethoscope and check if injector #3 is clicking. There are no ECL, just runs like pure ----.
