I'm stumped...

hey guy's, I need some help so can finish chipping an ecu. This is for an OBD1 P75. I started de soldering and soldering everything into place, but when it came time to solder in the resistor, I have no R54 spot to put it in. I know exactly where R54 should be, but it isn't there and there are no holes. What the hell do i do now? lol
If anyone needs pics i will post them. :)

Yeah i noticed that too. I have a obd1 p75 sitting right next to me. There isnt a r54 spot there. I was going to chip my p75 too but i'm glad you brought this subject up. :P

Well, I'm going to be going out tomorrow to check how my Integra's p75 was setup. I didn't chip that one, so i'll get back to you if theres no reply before then. ;)

Re:I'm stumped...

Hmmm, guy's I made a strange discovery when i checked my Integras ecu. On that P75 there is an R54 spot with a resistor soldered in, but whoever chipped it, didn't solder in and capacators in the C52 or c53 spots...
that ecu works perfectly and is what i'm using to run my eproms with Uberdata. What is going on with these ecu's that myself and racerxfear have? Could they be Canadian ecu's or possibly JDM?
Any help would be much appreciated because the more in depth i go with this, the more confused i am getting. ???

Re:I'm stumped...

Ok, I finally got a straight answer that would explain the situation. P75/P72 ecu's don't have a spot for an R54 resistor. There is no need for one so don't worry about it.

Re:I'm stumped...

haha im gunna stir the pot... then why did ur integra's ecu have one?

Re:I'm stumped...

Why you gotta stir the pot man???? :P Nah, I asked around to find out the same question and have been told that chances are the ecu in my integra was a pr4 from a 92-93 Integra, or worst case scenario... a p06 from a civic.
I didn't do the chip install on that ecu, but i did program the eeprom and install that, so bassically it's running on an LS program with no problem.
