ill pay if someone figures out my datalogging problem

ill pay someone $50 to get datalogging to work correctly in uberdata or ecucontrol. my cable works my ecu works and i have the correct driver for my computer and cable because i tested it. im just wondering if there is a trick or something to get datalogging working in ub i get messed up values. my j12 is connected when i try datalog in uberdata. what settings do i put which com port? i live in az. but if you say something on here and it gets my datalogging working ill still pay via paypal. Thanks.

yes i do. i got ecucontrol to work i set it to com 5 put my usb cable in the number 3 hole. took out the jumper on j12 but it takes about 5 seconds for it to respond. like if my car is idling it notices the rpm and it knows my mph but it takes along time for it to respond my setting was at 38400 should i go up or down?

Short J12.

Set port speed to 38400 bps.

Depending on who's cable you bought the RX and TX may be backwards on the cable end.

Set your COM port for the USB cable in wdows to 1,2,3 or 4.

Set you COM port in UD to the same port.

If you have already done these things then I will double check the settings on my laptop and post them up.

I also have the best luck with just a bare bones OS installation. I can get it to run with the OEM software package, but it seems to be much more reliable without all the extra crap programs running in the background.

Here's how I use uber.

Open up a any bin, go to datalogging tab.

Select a wideband sensor from the drop-down list.

Select a com port from another drop-down list. If you aren't sure which com port, just try them all until one works.

Check at least one sensor to datalog. Turn your car on. Bam!

Feel free to hit me up on aim if you need more help.

For Uberdata, I think the wires are (1 thru 5):
1 - Ground
2 - TXD
3 - Power
4 - RXD
5 - Unused

For Crome, I'm hoping it's the same but switching TXD & RXD. I haven't gotten it to work yet.

Make sure you're selecting the O2 check box too.

Oh yeah, do you have a wideband?

Re: ill pay if someone figures out my datalogging problem

You didn't mention what version you were using. Don't use 1.9x. The datalogging is broken in the executable. Go to uberdata.pgmfi.org and search for uberdata1.7ost2. This version works very well and has the ostrich support.

To rid any errors in hooking up the DL cable, just twist both the RX and TX wires together. Don't worry about connecting J12, you will be essentially doing that by by putting RX and TX together. First check to see if the cable works by using hyperterminal. Open hyperterminal and select the port that it is on and try typing on the keyboard. If you see what you typing then the cable is working properly. If it doesn't work then check to make sure you have the RX and TX wires. Start by checking random wires (EXCEPT THE POWER AND GROUND WIRES).

After you have gotten the cable to work correctly, connect it to the ECU. Open uberdata and open your bin. Select the COM port that you are using in the drop down box. Select the TPS check box. Turn the car to the ON position. The TPS value should be around 10. Hit the throttle and see of the value changes. IF it doesn't work, go back and check your wiring again, and go though the steps again.

Hope you get it to work.

im using 1.7, j12 is connected and tried com 1-4. i used hyper terminal and it worked which means my cable and driver are good right? im using windows xp.. i think im going to try use my computer instead of my laptop. i did get ecucontrol to datalog but it only gave me values like every 5 seconds but they were correct and it was on com 5. but i cant get the datalogging thing to log anything and its to slow to do anything with.

What cable are you using? I have the DKU-5 and it only works on COM 6. Which means it works in EC control but not in Uberdata. If I force it to COM 3 or 4 it doesnt work either. I have to mess with it when I get my new motor back in and I will let you know what works for me.
