Ignition problems !!!!!

I have a d16z6 and I just installed a Jacobs ICE pak on it. Well before I acutally hooked it all up I wanted to make sure the car started before so incase I ran into any problems it would be easier to find them. Well i couldn't get it to start. 30 min ago I pulled it into the drive way. and this was with all the stock wiring and stock distributer cap. Then I decided since nothing was working i would hook everything up and see what happens. Well the car actually started up and some black some started comming out of the back and then the car died. And now it can't get it to turn over at all. I checked the distibuter to see if it was sending a spark at all and it didn't give me one when I turned the ignition. Does that mean I need a new rotor or something else? THanks
Also I am using a new modified distributer cap for the jacobs ICE pak

Re:Ignition problems !!!!!

Put the car back to stock and try starting the car. If it starts then check and double check your wiring for the IcePak and re-connect it. Hope all goes well ;)

You may have fried the ignitor. Change it and try starting the car again. (I assume it was running before.......right?)

Ya it was running literally 3o min before I ran into this problem. I hooked up the new cap...hooked up the new wires and then tried to start it and then nothing. Where is the ignitor located? are they expensive? Basically is there a way I can test it to make sure it is working or not?

ignitor is your ICM, right? your problem is exactly what i ran into last year...it's your coil, i'd place money on it.
