if an fmu safe enough to get me home?
 
hey everyone first off i did look at some post's about fmu's (and i know it's not tuning) im gonna put a t-25 on my dohc zc tomorrow (i was planning on using a chip, but didnt arrive in time) and im in sd and the guy is near la will an fmu be safe enough to make it less than 200 miles(home) need help..

Yes, of course it will. The less you boost, the better, but there have been plenty of people to have used FMU's at low psi levels with success. Just don't push your luck. ;) I would say 8psi max on an FMU.

to be even more careful you can take out the wastegate spring (if its an external gate)

im not sure if you can disable an internal gate...but just try not boosting and you will be fine

now i know this may sound really stupid but is there any way i can make sure to stay under the 8psi? (i dont have a boost control) but like i said i am getting a chip

Unhook the arm and you won't build ---- for boost, but yeah........

now would it be ok on the turbo if i unhook the wastegate??

Unhook, as in unhook the arm, not the hose, yes. The turbo will spool minimal with the arm unhooked. With the hose unhooked it will spool infinite, which would be fun for about 14 seconds until your rods say hello to your hood.

ok i get it! i just thought with the arm unhooked it might be bad for turbo(not release'n pressure) but im wrong. thanks for the help
