idle problems

jus installed my turbo kit

so far i havent pressed it hard seeing as how i only have an fmu an no fuel pump as my high flow pump has stopped working already :S it was a used one

but ne how my car is idling super rich
and very low rpm and it hesitates alot when cold

i have no idea why its like this
i have no CELS

i am thinking i might have a defective fmu but i have no fuel pressure gauge to tell

or is there a way to adjust the throttle as when i jus installed it the revs were up to 2k and i saw my mechanic adjust sumthing below the throttle body where the gas pedal cable is attatched to it is

Re:idle problems

so its been like this since the mechanic messed with it or no?...because its easy to adjust right where the cable hooks to the tb

Re:idle problems

my guess is that the FMU combined with a rich warm up condition (during start up) is flooding the engine and making it hesitate and bog....

Your "mechanic" adjusted the idle control screw, located on the bottom of the throttle body. This isnt going to solve a whole lot, except help keep from killing the engine completly while idling at a stop light.

If your Mecanic was good (like I am ;D) he would have pulled a spark plug and checked for discoloration...

You need to upgrade your ignition system to fire off the rich mixture. Try upgrading your plugs with a wider gap...then add an external coil.

sincee we're on the topic of idle issues.. does the ecu adjust fuel at idle based on o2 sensor input?

i was driving today and my map cel kept coming on even with 3 check valves i only have one more
but it seems the more i add the worst the idle is

could this be the problem?

Re:idle problems

you are using one way valves right?...well, seems like you have them on backwards, you want them to let air out, you should not be able to blow into them

Re:idle problems

i found out wat the problem was

the fmu was malfunctioning
