IAT resistor to add fuel when in boost? (For an n/a car gone f/i)

Hey guys,

So I have been thinking, If I can get a resistor on the IAT line that turns on with a pressure switch (when boost kicks in) then wouldnt the engine add more fuel?

Instead of simply putting it in to run all the time (ebay crap) I would only have it coming in at boost... I could tune it by adding a different resistor or even adding two or three resistors which would turn on at different boost levels?

Comments? (I KNOW ANY other type of fuel managment will be better, but just hang with me a little bit... would this work?)

P.S. does anyone know how much those ebay chips change the a/f ratio? (resistor mods? Could I drastically change the a/f ratio or only 1 or 2 points?)

just get a chipped ecu............cheapest, safest, most reliable

What you're talking about doing is worse than even an fmu :-X

No, stick to N/A with your mad-tyte b16.

Ebay chips WILL blow your motor. They aren't like chips for Vw's & such (cars with MAF sensors, not a MAP sensor), as those cars can adjust the chip to your setup - to an extent. Honda ecu's need to be tuned individually.

On a properly running motor, those chips do ---- all. Even if they trick the IAT into thinking the air is cooler, needing more fuel, the O2 sensor will read it as being richer, and the ECU will lean it right the ---- back out to stock.

It really depends on how much the resistor fudges the IAT readings. Depending on how the IAT trim is set up and how much the silly ass resister skews the IAT readings then, sure, I guess 1 to 2 points of AFR change wouldn't be out of the question.

Will it provide enough fuel trim to support forced induction? Not likely.

By not likely you mean impossible, right? ;)

Meh, it would probably be sufficient to support one of those electric superchargers.
