i think im in over my head

Im looking for an honest opinon how hard is it tune with crome. I dont really know to much about tuning but from reading and doing some reasearch i think i can do it. i under stand the whole afr and horsepower not psi bull. When it comes to the timing and egt im lost. i have free vs of crome now ive been playing with so i can get the hang of how it works. are there alot of diff between pro? for the most part i want to have a reliable street tune. my plans are to run 550 injectors at no more than 15 psi at the track and 8psi around town thanks for any + input i know the only way to learn is buy trying but if there is a very small margin to play with id rather pay than blow what ive saved all winter

From what I've heard there are a few differences between Crome free and pro, but I've never seen pro to determine what they are lol. The basics are all there though to get you going with no problems.
Tuning AFR is probably the easiest part to do. Wideband and reading your plugs will tell you alot. Tuning timing can be a little trickier. Det cans will make your life much easier in that aspect. Don't be afraid to check out other people's .bin's of similar well running setups, it'll give you a rough idea of what to look for. As far as egt's go, unless you know how to interpret the guage, you can easily get lost. Lack of timing and too much fuel can raise egt's, as well as too much timing and other variables. Ask advice from people who do this alot and know some of the quirks of different motors (i.e. Joe Davis, Leed, Xenocron). Read your plugs through all of your tuning process. Make a change? Make a run, listen to your det can and read your plugs. Like previously stated, they tell alot about the inner workings of your motor.

The main differance between crome free and pro is datalogging and map trace. If you don't have those you'll have a reall hard time watching your wideband gauge and your rpm and a if they even are acurate bost gauge to tell were in map you need to tune.

Crome free and Freelog work fairly well. Thats actually what I'm using now. But I plan to buy pro soon.

I tuned my own first setup, its not too bad just make sure you have a chipburner, and a wideband. I used crome (free) and ECUControl to datalog, worked well for me.

+1 minus the crome pro buying thing.

Jeeze I need to just start writing my posts in word and doing a spell check before I post them.
