I know this is cheap and would work, but how safe is it?

I been reading alot of post about the cheap way out by just getting an FMU. btw the max I will boost will be 6 PSI. I've read that the FMU will work, but how safe is it? does it mean it will work for 6 months on my engine or does it mean that I should expect atleast 150k miles out of my engine?

well it depends alot. It depends on how you drive the car, it depends how homemade your turbo setup is, it depends on the condition of your car already. If i were to turbo a car (which I am) I would mess with anything less than a smu, zdyne, aem ems, safc or vafc + dsm injector so on and so forth. if want to make serious somewhat reliable power from any small dicplacment engine turbo + plus very good managment... engine, fuel and ignition management is key.

If you dont go over 7psi-ish, a rising rate will do ya' fine. After that your FP will be a bit on the high side.
I can vouch for a stock CRX/Civic pump being good to 7psi using a rising rate. After that, an inline and a prayer is needed.
I met a local guy feeding his A6 at 12psi using a rising rate and inline. Brave man, but has netted a 13.6 on street tires. Very respectable times.
