How are you wideband guys tuning?

Hey. I got a quick question. How are you guy with wideband o2's tuning? I know when I had Hondata it had that nifty map tracing function, but with uberdata it just seems to be tune and pray. Any info would be helpful.

Yeah, I was actually wondering the same thing. I just installed one of those shitty A/F guages, and I hate it. I can't get a decent reading out of it. ::)

As far as the A/F gauge goes, I've found (thought a PITA) that installing it on a stand alone O2 sensor works best. Also, run direct wires. MAke sure you don't get a "noisey" ground. Things like turning your lights on or off, and having the radio oncan effect your electrical system and give false readings.

standalone O2 sensor?

Will an aftermarket a/f gauge (like autometer) work with a wideband? I thought they only worked 0-1V, while WB o2s are 0-5V.

no those autometer ones are only for ther narrow band o2's only. what he means by standalone o2 is weld another bung into the dp and wire a separate narrow band o2 sensor up to only the gauge and not the ecu. but instead of that (40+10+30+welding) you could buy the kit to make your own wideband.

theres really no way to tune with a wideband unless you have data logging of a/f ratio vs rpm (like on a dyno)

http://www.dataq.com/products/startkit/di194rs.htm

you should be able to use this to datalog the wideband and rpm.
