Honestly there may be issues with the tank has they are not engineered for a return setup. I could be totally talking out of my *** here but placement would be very key.

Try looking at the kenne bell (not sure of the spelling) boost a pump. There is a company called lms that makes somthing called the I-manage, but it is very expensive. These are possible solutions to fact that more and more oems are equiped with "dead head" or returnless fuel systems. I have read that some of these modulate the fuel pump similar to injectors. My is300 has a "fuel pulsation dampner" on the fuel rail to possibly smooth it out. Not exactly sure though...
