Great post :-) i like the no electronics version. i'll have to give that a try. i can practice on my girlfriends na itb 20v 11:1 4age, cause even on 98ron/93aki, it pings quite a bit.

It isolates noise made by engine vibrations and amplifies them to your ears.

Basically lets you hear detonation much sooner than just plain cruising.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but i guess it shows that i've searched. lol

one problem i have is being able to hear anything in the car really. open downpipe/turbo makes it almost unbearable.


how do you guys do it ? i have some wallmart shooting ear protectors. i think they are like 28db.
