ah HA! if you didnt see..i got the wire goin to the glove box...so i can remove the s-afc off velcro tape, and place it in the glove box why you think i got the wire just hangin like that after all that work of installation eh?

I'm getting my AFC today. My friend works at a stereo/alarm install place. We're going to try to take to harnesses ( male and female ends ) and wire them in the middle of all the AFC wires if this is possible. This way if I'm in a bad area or need to take my AFC out of the car I can just unplug the harness and go and just reconnect it. Basic quick dis-connects. I don't know what gauge all the wiring is from the AFC and it should be possible to do. If not I'll just do what he did. Cut a alittle hole in the side of the glove box and stick it in there.

 

If you unplug your vafc you will lose all your settings.

 

I don't remember that being an issue. I believe it stores the information in a EPROM inside the unit. I'll have to double check, but I've heard of users buying them used from eBNay or some such and the previous person's settings being in there.

 

You will not loose your settings. it has an internal backup unit (battery).
