How do YOU tune a car?

Hallo,

this question does to all tuners... i have tuned my car by myself with a wideband.
its all perfect under 70-80% throttle until high boost... mixture is perfect.

if i got boost with only 40-50% throttle i get extremly lean (nearly 14.5:1)

if i make boost with full throttle i get extreamly richt (near 11:1)
the last i can explain with full throttle enrichment but the leaning out under light throttle isn't ok for me...

what can that be?

how do you tune your cars? only unter WOT? or boost with part throttle? or both?

i want to mention that my concern is ONLY under boost. part load conditions are all ok. Engine management is a TE like DIY system for a B16 Vtec engine. but no discussion about that. Handle it like if it is a TE or uberdata management.

You would need to tune the boost portion of the map at the specific rpm. Are you tuning in closed loop or closed loop disabled?

Hi,

i tune and run the car at the moment completly in permanent open-loop.

do you think that the fuel hole is only in a specific rpm range... that could be the problem, thats right... i will check that.

but it would be nice to get some more informations from other tuners about the way they tune cars.

You need to specify which engine management you are using...it will/could have a lot ot do with it.

Any tuner finds holes or fat sections and adds or subtracts. It's not rocket science. Don't be so secretive and you my get more help.
