Do you drool, slap yourself or stutter? need to wear a helmet and require help going to the shitter? If so then yep, retard it......

You coulld also check your spark plugs. Do a pull in 3rd gear then shut your car off at the end of the pull and check your spark plugs. It should give you an idea whats going on in there.

Little meatal flakes on your spark plug means you are getting detanation. >:(

you drive at 8psi without retarding you timing ? damn .. I used to have cooling problems at 5psi on injection control only ... I retarded the timing with 1 deg/1psi and everything went perfect .. so you decide yourself

most people don't run more than 5psi without tuning the timing

how much advance in timing does the safc cause when you use it at -%40 with 450s?

Re: how can i know if i need to retard my ign?

ok im not sure about this but when i open stockLS.bin in uberdata and look at the (from right to left) tenth column in Ign Low Tab
i see i get about 27 degrees of timing. Using the Safc at -%40 to -%34, from the ignition tables in uberdata i prolly need to look at the 6th and 7th column and the timing in that area is about 33 degrees... so i think using the safc hack gets you about 6 degrees advance.. and you also need to retard timing according to boost and at 8 psi that means you need about 3-4 degrees of retard (correct me if im wrong here) and that makes a total of 10 degrees retard needed... using 98 octane gas (european standarts) you can get away with probably about 8 degrees or a little less retard at the dizzy.. consequence of retarding at the dizzy is that the cars timing will be retarded off boost too which will cause the car to feel sluggish abit when not in boost

Re: how can i know if i need to retard my ign?

after some researching i found out that what i wrote above is mostly correct but you cant retard your timing something like 8 degrees because if you do so you retard the timing throughout all revs and at low revs and idle while the map voltage reading is very small and when you do a similar calculation to the one i did in my last post you see you dont need that much retard as you do in the high revs..

you can adjust it something like 2-3 degrees retard before the idle starts be shitty because of too much retarded timing.. so best is to do a 2-3 degrees retard and use a device to control timing according to boost.. and also use good fuel
