Hondata problem.

Default Hondata problem.

ok just started the beast up, and my check engine light came on and wont go off. I put a jumper in and it still stays solid. wtf do I do?

Start trouble shooting. That happened to me when Dave installed uberdata in my car. We ended up installing the hondata system Dave had in his car and I still got the CEL, so we knew it wasn't anything to do with my ECU. We traced it down to the resistor box wiring and after we fixed that no more CEL.

I would download the installation manual if you haven't already and see what is says about resolving problems... http://www.hondata.com/downloads.html

thanks dood. I pulled the chip out and 2 teeth were broken off. so I guess I am going to try and resolder them? and pray... Ill post results later.

uhhhhhhhhh... resolder the teeth on the chip?? probably not the best idea. Get a new chip i'd say.

its not really an option, unless leed has a cool basmap for a b16 w/boost, I think I will ask him.

Default hondata getting stuck at 5k at startup

ok so I got my basemap to work, and I let it warm up and then I started playing with the throttle and it started revving to 5k. I shut it off and restarted it and same thing. and then I took off the negative battery terminal, and still the same thing.

are you saying that with the throttle closed it's revving up to 5k rpm? I don't understand how this could happen.

now I am like wtf I musthave sucked up some ladys nylons in there because the throttle body caught a big chunk!!! wtf and it was keeping it at 5k lol. fixxed now but the seals blew on the turbo so no I am back to square one.
