Hondata ODB-II automatic?
Ok, I've been through the whole hondata site and still can't make sense of it.
I have a 1996 Integra LS automatic I am planning to boost. It seems to me that Hondata offers the best solution for fuel and timing management, but will it work with my machine? I know that only Stage 2's work with the automatic, but what I can't tell is if I can use a Stage 2 with an ODB-II ECU. On one post (on H-T) someone said you need an ODB-II => ODB-I harness. I don't know what that means. Do I need an ODB-I computer that I somehow plug into my 1996 car using a harness, or do I plug the Hondata into some wiring harness so that it can talk to my ODB-II ECU? Also... Hondata sells a "boost" option. It seems to be nothing more than a 3-Bar MAP. the "boost" option costs $200, but I can buy a GM 3-Bar MAP for no more than $70 bucks. Is there more to the "boost" option, or is this a typical Hondata rip-off? Can I just skip the "boost" option and buy my own 3-bar MAP? Thanks. |
