HONDATA

welp, i just got done talking to Matt from Hondata and he said that they now offer OBD1 ECUs with the OBD2 adapter already installed for $425. He said I could use the s100 or s200 on my car with the adapter. I have a 99 Dx (D16Y7). what ya'll think?

Yeah, I don't know of any Hondata tuners in my area either. But I'm a cheap bastard so I'm working on getting the Uberchip.

Re:HONDATA

Yep, Hondata sells P28 with OBD2 plugs at a 50% markup.

My $0.02 is buy the Hondata from Hondata. Get your P28 somewhere else.

Re:HONDATA

Thanks for the replies...looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel...FINALLY

So JC, i could use a P28 on my 99 DX? are there any known problems like weird CEL's or other things that make it incompatible? This sounds like the best route for me...instead of going with the AEM EMS which I really can't afford. gettin excited.....

Re:HONDATA

blown90 hatch...
hondatech.. jason is his name.

obd2-ob1a harness...
p28's. ebay unmodded go for 80 shipped.

then get the hondata
kyle
ksmotorsports.com
2K-teg on hondatech..
best prices for hondata and he is AUTHORIZED..
get the s200B. s100 is becoming extinct and its like a 15 dollar difference in pricing from kyle.

>:( now beat it.

Sirex 05-14-2003 04:44 PM

Re:HONDATA

ummm doesnt that cost more you retard?

the harness is 170 Shipped now that the GB is over
a P28 is 80 - 100 dollars..
Chippin it for hondata is another 60
then hondata its self is like 425 from this kyle...

sigh.. you must like waisting money.

Re:HONDATA

Ok now which ECU should I send to Hondata? the P06 or the P28? I think the P06 makes more sense since it is from a Non Vtec 1.6 just like my 99Dx...and it costs less because nobody wants em....WHAT DO YOU THINK? thanks!

Tom-Guy 05-14-2003 11:29 PM

Re:HONDATA

If you have a non-VTEC, then get a non-VTEC ECU is my suggestion.

Re:HONDATA

I don't understand Joseph......LOL THANKS DOOD!

Tom-Guy 05-15-2003 12:15 AM

Re:HONDATA

LOL.

Non-VTEC OBD1 ECUs from Civic/Integra, which are a coomon platform and therefore all supported by Hondata = P05 CX(after you add a transistor to enable 4 wire O2 usage, otherwise they kick O2 heater circuit code), P06 DX, PR4 92-93 LS, P74 94 LS and P75 95 LS.

Re:HONDATA

asm. no. ur wrong.

425 shipped for the hondata s200..
150 groupbuycenter.. harness
p28's u can get cheaper than 80 just stating where and how much i paid for mine.
btw, that was shipped from singapore...

its a base charge of 60 to install the hondata. however if he can weld the 4 wires needed then he saves 60..
i told him what i paid.

i dont give 2 fucks about money. ur right. i like wasting it. cause i like good ----.

Re:HONDATA

I don't know where you get your P28's from, but around here (Southern CALI), U Ain't Gettin no P28 VTEC ECU for under $120 (and that's with a mean hook-up, regular people pay $150-$200+), and btw, they go for $120 UP + Shipping on EBAY.

Sirex 05-16-2003 09:16 AM

Re:HONDATA

emt1 makes no sence... you just said
asm ur wrong.. but then at the end of the post you say

i dont give 2 fucks about money. ur right. i like wasting it. cause i like good ----.

then it is cheaper taking the route i said...

wow you need to learn some math kid.

i dont know how 600+ dollars compares to 425 dollars...
if you actually read his post and stopped post whoring just cuz you see HONDATA and your getting one you would of read that his comes with an adapter for his obd2 car and everything included for 425 dollars...

*** The last part of this post was edited, as it was unacceptable. I understand tempers getting a little high sometimes... that's OK... that's what Honda-Tech is for. Flame somebody there. - Joseph

Re:HONDATA

Alright..looks like I'm going with a P06....should work just fine right? anyone have any links to buy one besides Ebay? THANKS KIDS!

Dr.Boost 05-16-2003 05:58 PM

Re:HONDATA

Wise decision. I thought I was going to be hardcore and get a P28 for my non vtec and it bit me in the ass. I lost about $100 on the deal and ended up with my old P06 pile of ----, 6800 rev limited, 118 mph governed, stock fuel, stock timing ecu. :'(

www.car-part.com

When I need a part for my car I search on there ALL the time.

here's one I did for you (non-cali manual tranny dx/lx 92-95)

lots of places had them from $55-75 even though it starts out at like $200+ on the first page of results haha
