Honda obd1 ecu questions
Well I met up w/this guy for a po6 and he told me the ecu where pulled from the junk yard and have never been tampered with. I didn't have any tools on me at that moment so I took him on his word. I get home pop the covers off and I see a M27256-17 chips where a socket is suppose to go but directly soldered in. There are no solder marks or anything that would indicate or these ecu have ever been touch, I don't know if someone started to chip these and stop or whats going on? I am pissed about the transaction because I wanted virgins, but don't we all.

LOL um O.......K the one at the top is virgin you have to desolder the board before you can add in components.
the lower one you said is stock has been chipped by someone at some point from the looks of that uv chip it was probably a good while ago or some jankass ebay seller.

Re: Honda obd1 ecu questions
looks like it has NOT been tampered with, but was done like that at the factory. Note the resistor type jumper in place of J1 (like what honda uses instead of just a piece of wire). Also the soldering looks really precise, not by hand, as in done in the factory.
Some ecu's came with an external chip like that, I'm not sure which ones, but it's no big deal. Like mentioned above you'd have to desolder those holes anyway, even if no chip was in place.
