honda computer overriding a hack?
I have read on hondata that a honda computer will learn to override the afc and similar hacks. is this true?
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
what
if you have hondata why would u have the afc hack? im confused here.. ??? |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
i don't have a hondata, i was just reading off thier website. thats where i got that info.
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
override meaning replace the afc hack?
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
NO, the stock honda computer acually learns that its being hacked and overides the afc(or whatever).
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
No, that is impossible.
Can you post exactly where this is for me? I'd like to spank some ass. |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
During closed loop, the ecu makes both 'short' term and 'long' term adjustments to the fuel map based on O2 feedback. (up to a maximum %)
Open loop is purely map based, and is not affected. This touches on the subject a bit: http://www.hondata.com/techo2problem.html Come'on Joseph, all that reading on the PGMfi forums and you havent heard of this? ;) |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
It does that with Hondata boost code, too, since the Hondata code is 99% Honda code.
Learning air fuel correction for emissions under cruising conditions is a seperate beast from open loop where the ECU operates off of fuel and ignition tables as if they were carved in stone. |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
Learning air fuel correction for emissions under cruising conditions is a seperate beast from open loop where the ECU operates off of fuel and ignition tables as if they were carved in stone. So in sum, the Honda ECU will try to correct for an AFC hack only during closed loop AND if the combined larger injector/lowered map reading produces an errant rich/lean condition. |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
Thats what I meant. Closed loop only. :P

UberEgo, dont be jewish
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
Man, that was a bit harsh on the Jews, wasn't it?
|
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
moreso, if you just cut power to the ECU (pull the fuse or battery) it should return to factory settings again.
I wouldn't assume these boolean based ECUs to store data without being able to 'lose' it to. Or am I completely wrong? |
Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
Pulling the hazard fuse in the underhood fusebox kills power to part of the ECU... the volatile RAM chip that stores said settings - labelled OKI M5128 in OBD0 and who cares about crappy OBD1 *hits UberTeg*

obd2 learns and adjusts its self, very gay, but obd0 dosent, i hate obd2... just convert to a standalone obd0 system if u have obd1/2. that makes it easy

Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
If you go to this website it will explain about the Ecu overridding mods your honda and it will tell you how to get aroud it. I have been using the mod in my 2000 civic SI for over 4 months now and I don't have any problems.

Re:honda computer overriding a hack?
I don't want anybody to take me like Uberteg, but modding with an OBD2 ECU is like ------- Shaniquia... you don't know what you're getting into, you don't like what you get, and you should be embarrassed to have anyone find out you've tried such a thing.
