Default Hey guys, i'm back!!

So I picked up an '02 RSX-S with a turbo kit. I was looking around for the management and all I could find was a little 6-7 wire piggy back system. It was a little black box that said "fuel control unit". Any idea what this thing is or how it works? I can't find anything on the internet about it. My guess is it tricks the map sensor or something to add more fuel.

I couldn't find anything that controlled the ignition though and that kinda scares me. There's no distributor on these cars, so it must be all done electronically via the ecu? So what's retarding the timing in boost?

I'll get pics later.

Oh, the other thing that I don't understand is that the kit it running 6psi, and 600cc RC's... is that greddy black box controlling those injectors too??

Maybee it is a signal conditional that tricks the ecu to manage the larger injectors and control timing as well. Beware that some of the newer odbII systems can "learn" and thereby defeat some piggyback systems. Do you have a pic of it?

I doubt it's doing any ignition, not enough wires from that box. I'll have to look up what wires it's tapped into and find out what they are. Maybe the ecu is using the stock knock sensor to retard the timing by itself?

I'll go snap some pics.

Interesting. It does'nt look like it has any adjustment ***** on it, ect. My guess is that it is made specifically for whatever kit it came with. Some engines can run stock timing with conservative boost and ample fuel; i would like the availability to pull some timing for a margin of saftey. I guess the ecu pinout diagram would tell you what it is working with.

Only ecu pinout I could find was on hondata.com, and it said grn/red was the check engine light, which doesn't make any sense. Anyone has a link to a real ecu pinout diagram for an '02 rsx-s?
