Find the VTEC solenoid and follow the wire from it into your engine bay...

He's got a DX chassis which doesn't have a VTEC wiring.

Just run a wire from your VTEC solenoid into your engine bay to the VAFC's VTEC solenoid wire, all done.

Yeah but the D16Z6 engine was already swapped in there so unless all this time that engine hasnt had any VTEC and its been throwing the codes for it...he has a VTEC solenoid and a wire going from it to somewhere inside the cabin and into the ECU.

He probably doesn't have a VTEC ECU, therefore, no code.

DCSkater0182, do you have a wire running from your VTEC solenoid at all?

Most likely, which Pin is it into the ECU plugs?

Should be A4 into the Vtec ECU (OBD1) unless for some reason you are using a PR3 ECU (A

I love when people give you all of the information so you can solve a problem..

Customer: "My car is making a noise..."

Mechanic: "What's it sound like?"

Customer: "I don't know."

Mechanic: "When you're driving?"

Customer: "Sometimes.."

Mechanic: "When you're sitting still?"

Customer: "Sometimes.."

Mechanic: "Where does it sound like it's coming from?"

Customer: "The car."
