Default Help with ttl converter.....

Some of you may remember awhile back I posted some pictures of a circuit board and was told that it was a rs232 to ttl converter. Well recently someone attempted at using a nokia data cable (dku-5) and just chopping off the phone adapter end and wiring on a usb cable. When they hooked it up to the emanage it works.... Im trying to do the same thing. I however have only gotten as far as the emanage software telling me its online, it still wont upload/download data. My questions is about the tx/rx... Does one of those typically goto the positive and one to the negative.. I know that the usb cable has the green wire for positve and the white for negative. The other side of the cable has an fbus rx and fbus tx. Im not sure which goes where. I have tried both combos and still havent been able to upload I think it has to do with one of the other two wires im not using on the coverter side of the cable. If I can manage to get the rx/tx correct I can try shorting the other two wires to see which one makes it work..... Thanks in advance.

you need to get the actual pinout diagram for the cable, do you have that already? then you hook the transfer wire of the cable, to the receive port of the emanage, an the opposite for the receive cable. then ground the ground wire and shelding to the negative in the cable to the negative on the emanage, and the power wire to the positive. Assuming the Emanage has those connections to wire to.
