HELP! SMC 500, limp mode problem

Ok so i have my crx equiped with a d16a6 with a z6 head, 14b turbo, virgin p28, runing dsm injectors managed by the smc 500. however, i can boost around all day long no problem, but the moment i stay in boost for more than like a few seconds my car goes in to limp mode. starts idling at about 1000 rpm and throws cel code 3 (map). if i turn my car off and start it, its runs normal but still throws the code until i reset it by popping the ecu fuse out and hazzard fuse out then putting them back in....runs fine until the next time i decide to keep my car in boost for awhile. WHY???? my understanding is that in the manual of my smc it states there is a volatge clamp i can set to avoid the map from detecting positive pressure. i followed the direcrtions but still does its bullshit map code. please help if u have any idea's to avoid this.

i know plenty of ppl that have and are successfully using the smc..... they are not having the same issue as me though. anyways i asked for help about my problem with the smc... not to sound shitty but i didnt ask for opinions on using an smc...

Well, your sleazy AFC hack with built in MAP clamp obviously isn't working right, and getting rid of it will solve your problem.

Not opinion, fact.

maybe if this was 10 years ago the afc would be fine, but there is 10 cheaper and better options that will cause less headaches than afc cost/are worth

chip your ECU and save yourself the trouble/motor from running an AFC hack because you have nothing to retard timing.

i saw this thread title and thought it might be a thread of mine from 6 or so years ago. I had the same problem, and i bet you might even have my old unit if you bought it used lol, since i sold it on here for cheap because it didnt work properly. If your settings are far enough negative it shouldnt throw a cel though. God that thing was annoying to set, counting flashes and ----.
