Help with P28 and AFC
Ok so I read the FAQ which was full of info, that got me thinking. I was trying to tune my VAFC last night and all of a sudden it the ECU went into LIMP mode and wouldn't rev past like 2500. In the FAQ it mentions that the ECU will throw a code if the MAP signal reaches 3.1volts. My P28 all of a sudden started throwing a code 4 which is Crankshaft position sensor. Which is complete BS because the car ran perfect then it just threw it for no reason. My MAP sensor is pulling vaccuum from the back of my intake manifold, could this be a problem? Should I install 2 or 3 check valves or something? Any ideas why my P28 would just go into LIMP?
Thanks guys! ;D |
Re: Help with P28 and AFC
It got you thinking of that entire scenario :o what an imagination.
So you are messing with the AFC and you throw a code? amazing. What is the cars set-up? Did you just add the AFC? Is it a stock ECU you are running? So many questions. |
Re: Help with P28 and AFC
I have a D16z6 with a T25 and some DSM 440cc injectors. I am running a VAFC. The ECU is a stock P28

Re: Help with P28 and AFC
Anyone have any idea why it would go into Limp mode?

Re: Help with P28 and AFC
Because AFC's are a shitty way to do it. Chip kit is like $25 shipped.

Re: Help with P28 and AFC
The VAFC will not allow you to pull enough injector width to accomodate the 450's. The correct way to use the VAFC with 450's is to use a 3BAR MAP sensor. Go search VAFC hack. Then after you realize that you will need to spend more money to get a 3 bar; sell the VAFC, pay to have your ecu chipped and tuned. Hell, depending on what you sell it for, you might have money left over. |
