help me out fellas

ok here is my dilema,

Driving around tuning, get a good 2nd gear pull, pull into the gas station to make some changes in the higher rpm's. burn the chip and throw it back in, but the vacume is only at 16 instead of 20 and it idles like its missing. reburn the chip, see if it got messed up but nothing. The chip is in there secure and all the pins are where they are supposed to be. After a couple time is reburning the chip with the same maps, the car wont start, it turns over but doesnt start.

So i grab my other ecu, reburn a chip and see is my ecu is fucked, but no its the same thing, all of a sudden my car wont start. So i get towed home, tried to start the car and it tries to start but just dies.

i have fuel, i have spark, i know the chip burner works cuz we tested it out on my buddies car.

Anyone have any ideas of what might be the problem(s). I am clueless and because of my car not starting i am missing work tomorrow. GIVE ME SOME IDEAS GURU's

Do you save your new maps as new files or just overwrite the original?

I'd back up a map or two if you can.

saved over the old one, so i cant back up, but we tried a different basemap to see if it would start, and no go

you made some other changes especially across the idle portion and it's too rich causing the lower vac. possibly flooded the engine. possibly burned the chip using the wrong chip selected in burn1. always save your changes as a different bin so if your changes were wrong you can always go back. i also suggest when making changes using 2 chips going back and forth so that you can just drop the old one back in.

we didnt make any changes in the idle, idle was fine, the changes were from 4krpm and up. The chip was in right, but it ran like the chip was in backwards. (the arrow not facing the lever) but its was in right, and all the teeth were where they were supposed to be, and as of now i will be saving my old bins

We ever tried another ecu, just to see if the one that we were using was fcuked, but the same thing happened

Maybe try a completely new basemap? :-[

Re: help me out fellas

Maybe it's not the chip, ecu or software...

Odd coincidence, but I suppose it's possible.

Does the C.E.L light stay on when you turn the key to the ON position (You would have said that, but I thought I'd check anyway)? If you've been turning over the motor a bunch of times, trying to start it, It's def. flooded. When you burn chips, are you unplugging the power cord from the burn and closing the program?

Re: help me out fellas

CEL light does not stay on. When we brunthe chips we open the willem program, get it setup, put the chip in the burner, burn it,, close the program and try the ecu
