Haltech, Microtech, AEM

Hi,

I have a Civic b16a2 with a T4 turbo. The Ecu must be reprogrammed and I wonder What engine
Managment is the most easy to use (program) for a starter.
I don't have experience yet with programming.

My car is daily driven but I also want to take it to the track now and then.

I want to keep using the most factory sensors with this new programmable ECU.
I allready have a 3 bar map sensor.

Does anyone have experience using the AEM/ haltec or microtech ECU?

Help me out!

Thanks!

Anthony B

Just chip your ecu, honda ecu's can have new maps put on them and its just as good as running a stand alone. :y

Most people here cant afford AEM,Haltech etc.The AEM is a great unti if you got the money and they offer a Honda unit that plugs in and retains the stock sensors. If you can afford it go with the AEM but if your tight on cash there are many options for low budget management like Uberdata,Crome etc. What year of Honda do you have?

I've installed and tuned 2 of 3 of your options. The Haltech will get the job done, but is tedious to wire in and the software is "caveman" to say the least. It is no frills and is limited on the number of outputs available. The AEM is the best engine management out there for the money. Every tuner has their favorite, but my personal belief is that it is every bit as good as the Autronic or Motec with far less money. However, if all you want is a basic tune, the AEM is more than you need. It's traction control, nitrous control, and boost control are top notch, as well as its many ways to trim fuel, but if you don't need all that, there's no need to pay for it.

For the money? You are out of your mind. Chip an ECU for $21 and run Uber or Crome. The BEST for your MONEY. :P
