hack vs. advancing timing?
ok, i heard that if you use the hack to control your 450's and boost that it advances the timing. this isn't good on a boosted engine. what would i do to get around this? could i just use the hack and get the msd btm and retart it like 1 degree each pound of boost?

Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
wrong section! ;D The BTM would work great or you could just back your timing down and how much boost are you running?
|
Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
not running boost yet but will be soon. i'm planning 7-8 on the street and 10-12 on the track. most likely only 10 tho, i have to much sweat and money in this engine to blow it being stupid.

Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
You can also chip your ecu for retard. I guess that works better at lower psi and it would be cheaper than a msd btm too. Then again if your doing that you might as well chip your ecu for boost while your at it. ;)

Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
lol good idea but i don't know how to work all that pgmfi.org and gettodyne and turboedit ---- anyways. i've tried to comprehend it before and it just doesn't work. does anyone sell chips that are specifically for boost and retarding timing?

Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
yeah, hondata.
heh. $$$$ |
Re:hack vs. advancing timing?
TurboEDIT has boost retard function.
Open your boost ROM, right-click, choose Boost Retard (Ign). Type in the degree of retard per psi (0.0 - 3.0), click OK, and you're done. |
