gsr injectors

im am helping my friend tune his car right, he doesnt want to be homemade on this so no dsms for him. when getting a set of rc injectors, do i need peak hold or saturated? and would 440s be ok on the gsr with around 10psi and uberdata?

tranceminister 12-13-2004 06:39 PM

Re:gsr injectors

Well, if he doesn't want to wire up a resistor box because it's too "HMT", You'll need the saturated injectors. And yes 440cc's will flow enough for a GSR running 10 LBS. I've read dyno results of 300whp+ where there setup consisted of a set of 450's. Thats cutting it close to maxing the duty cycle, but I'd bring those 440's to about 275ish max to be safe.

Re:gsr injectors

its the same price to get 550s so i might do that just to be safe and not max those things out

Chris Harris 12-13-2004 11:04 PM

Re:gsr injectors

id say get the 550 jordan, the RC have a disc instead of a pintle like the DSM, makes tuning part throttle and idle much easier i hear :)

Re:gsr injectors

750's aren't that much more either I don't think.

Re:gsr injectors

Going big now huh? lol. I too would go a little bigger than the 440's if at all possible. I mean, you could acheive your goal with the 440's but just for peace of mind, and the room for more fuel if you ever wanted to crank up the boost ;)

Re:gsr injectors

well it was a sad but funny day, he blew the motor, see my post in GD

mahcivic 12-15-2004 08:33 PM

Re:gsr injectors

the kid doesnt know aynthing about cars and just bought in last friday, he was running stock ingnition timing, fmu with stock injectors, that explains why the motor blew

tranceminister 12-15-2004 08:35 PM

Re:gsr injectors

Whoops. He'll get to learn how to replace an engine now ;)

Re:gsr injectors

if you had the money for hondata youd get it, you know you would chris. lol cause i know i would. hes getting some 9.0:1 pistons, keeping the stock rods, arp head studs, block guard i acutally just added up all the labor and parts charges hes gonna be speeding.
1300 for hondata and rc 550cc injectors, 1000 for the shop to take the motor in and out and assemble diasemble it. 620 for pistons, head studs, block guard. 1600 for all labor on long block that the machine shop will do, and 600 for bearings, gasket set, oil pump, water pump, tbelt. all the works. total was around 5500. DAMN SON!!! he bought the car last friday for like 15000 and now has to pay another 5 grand. OUCH. this kid is 16 too. hes a rich fucker. i wish i had that kinda money to spend on my car. o well

Re:gsr injectors

i really dont have any $$$ problems like most on here, i could afford Hondata if i needed to...its just i am against what they stand for.

on another note...why in the world is he keeping the stock rods?

i thought rods are generally the weakest part of the internals on honda motors...is he at least getting them shot peened?

Guy-Fast 12-16-2004 11:33 PM

Re:gsr injectors

Agreed on the rod issue and eagles are so cheap these days. 1300 for hondata where the hell is he gettin it from. I know they have ones w/ boost option for like 400 bucks

mahcivic 12-17-2004 09:03 AM

Re:gsr injectors

sorry i didnt mention the eagle rods. my bad. and hondata cosists of getting the p28 ecu with obd2 connectors for 425. the base s200 for 295, and the boost capability for 200, then he needs 550 injectors. so theres your 1300.

ummmmm, please don't use the 'h' word in here. your friend is an idiot if he spends that money on hyundaidata, uber does the same exact thing and you could get the ecu chipped with a basemap (exactly how you will recieve hyundaidata package) for less than 200 bucks. bah, it's his money.

mahcivic 12-17-2004 01:54 PM

Re:gsr injectors

i know its his money, so let him spend it. hes not about HMT like all us. o well

Chris Harris 12-17-2004 04:01 PM

Re:gsr injectors

Tell him I can sell him Uberdata for $600 (not including the injectors) with all the same features.

Maybe he'll change his mind :P

PS...I'll split the $$$ with you if you can convince him! HAHAHAHA ;D

so you mean youll get the ecu, chip it, and come up here and tune it for him? i might have to take you up on that. ill talk to him and let him know

Chris Harris 12-17-2004 05:51 PM

Re:gsr injectors

i was kinda joking, but yes i will do everything but the come up there and tune it...thats separate.

hondata doesnt come with tuning either :P

Dr.Boost 12-17-2004 06:54 PM

Re:gsr injectors

----, for $600 I'll fly out there and throw a WB on it and call it a tune. :D
