is there a button or something i have to press for datalogging to start? or does it just start once i hook it up? anyone?

let me make sure i got the CN2 pins right...

1 - Ground
2 - RX
3 - +5V
4 - TX

is that right?

Datalogging will begin as soon as you choose the correct com port and click on at least one sensor to log. And I have no idea about the CN2 wiring.

yea its cool. at least you helped with the rom burner

also i keep hearing about drivers. is this only needed for the usb method for datalogging? or do i need some special drivers for the serial method as well?

Drivers are only needed if you have a usb cable. You shouldn't need any. I'm pretty confused why your datalogging isn't working either, I am out of ideas. You sure the TTL to RS232 converter is good?

as far as i know, but anything is possible. i did assemble it myself, thats why i posted pics of the soldering job on it so pepole could see if i did anything wrong.

I'd say ditch it for now and try something else, like a datalogging cable with the conversion built in and a serial to usb converter, or try one of those nokia usb cables I haven't used one at all so I don't know much about them except for lots of people saying that they work great on their own.

seems theres a problem with the instructions with the got speed board.

Right on, I knew it was something dumb like that. Let me know how it works once you get that figured out. Should work perfect because we have checked just about everything else.
