I use the first one myself. It seems to work just fine for everything Ihave needed.

Noone wants to answer b/c it is a pretty simple question if you ahve read stuff or used the search function like you are supposed to.

For a litle extra you can get the Moates Burn1. Its a single wire USB burner and its a lot easier to use. www.moates.net

looks like you won the willem. that's the one i use, works fine, but yeah, the moates is more convenient, but cost twice as much :-\

ok so when i get the burner what do i have to do to burn a bin on it. is it all ready to burn chips when i get it?? or do i need other stuff to burn.?? thanks

Re:is this a good programmer for uberdata??

you just have to install the software on your computer, read the directions that come with the burner, and use a jumper wire between pin 3 and 31 on the burner when burning 29c256 chips.

Re:is this a good programmer for uberdata??

So you just get a wire and stick it in both pins to bridge them?

projekteg 11-11-2004 12:06 PM

Re:is this a good programmer for uberdata??

yeah, only for the 29c's though, you don't have to do it with other eproms

Re:is this a good programmer for uberdata??

Awesome, always seems dangerous to be prodding electrical stuff wen its plugged in tho lol, do you do it wen its turned on or off?

Re:is this a good programmer for uberdata??

1) install software to computer
2) plug data cable in to printer port and connect to burner
3) open software and select chip type
4) set dips and jumpers on burner accordingly
5) insert chip in to burner with jumper wire
6) power up chip burner (usb)
7) i.d. test to make sure burner recognizes chip
8) load .bin in to buffer
9) blank test chip, if not blank, erase
10) program chip
11) take chip out
12) put chip in ecu
13) drive car
14) go pick up some ho's

Is this something that only applies to these chip using this burner or any burner combined w/the 29c256?
