Thanks, but I think you misunderstood my question. I know how the chipping process works. I am just unsure about the software aspect of it. With the Moates BURN1 will I have to use the Turbo Edit Software and the TunerPro RT that the post on the UberData board (listed above) talks about? Or will the Turbo Edit software support the Moates burner? That whole write up on the UberData board has me kinda confused now. :-\

Turboedit and the software for your burner are completly different. What you do is edit your rom on Turboedit, then save it. it saves as a bin file. Then you close turboedit, open up the Burner software, open up the .bin file you just saved from turboedit, and burn it to the chip. Insert it into your ecu and blow up your motor. ;)

Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question, but is TurboEdit like Uberdata-----in terms is it free and downloadable?

if you scroll down a bit it's called "BURN1". It programs AT29C256 chips, which are the chips of choice if you're chipping your ecu. it's been tested, and works. I wish I would've known about this before I bought my Batronix burner (over $120, not usb). btw Batronix's USB burner is over $200.

If you want to check out the thread on the uberdata board that describes how to get it to work, here's the link. you have to register for the board to see it but that's no big deal.

I emailed that bastered and he said it didnt do AT29C256 only AT29C512 ***neverminde*** iam a retard he said it only did SST27SF512 and not SST27SF256
