Ghettodyne ecu and SAFC???

does the boost program from ghD still have the low rpm erratic behavior? or does the newest version have that worked out? if not, would an AFC be able to smooth that out? or am i just stoopid? just wondering because i am putting together the parts for HMT and still deciding on which management to use. Also, with GhD, is the boost referenced timing control necessary (like afc hack) or just a perk to allow for crappy fuel.

im only asking because i have a new SAFCII, Crane TRC, Crane MAP sensor, Crane Ign., Crane Coil, already purchased.

any thoughts?

Well, just for clarification, GhD is an editor and didn't have "glitches". The PGMFI Boost ROM had a few glitches during boost transition. I had never heard of "low RPM" glitches. But I think we're talking about the same thing.

Anyway, tuning a stock PM6 ignition map with TE's boost retard feature fixed a lot of the transistion. So I'm very confident the "glitches" can be tuned out with vacuum tuning.

There are no newer versions. But there is new code out. TurboEDIT supports flawless boost transition of the new PGMFI ROM. See the TurboEDIT Support thread for details, and the TurboEDIT website for download and feature information. (http://www.TurboEDIT.org )

An AFC will not smooth it out, as it does no modification of the ignition pulses... directly.

Boost referenced timing control? Are you talking about the routine that handles boost in the ROM? Yes, it's pretty much an internal AFC. The MAP sensor byte is scaled by 5/8 of it's original value, and passed through the fuel interpolation routine as if were the initial value.

now that i reread my post, i realize that i was portraying GhD as a program, sorry. i know it is just an editor, i guess what i should have asked is :"is there a debugged .bin for Ghd that doesn't have the glitches." but i didn't. thank you for clearing that up.

the boost referenced timing control i was talking about: on the AFC hack the MSD BTM is used...well, you know. i was wondering if this would still be beneficial, even with a boost programmed ecu. again sorry for the confusing question.

Well, since you're able to modify your fuel and ignition maps, I wouldn't spend the money on a BTM.

TurboEDIT has a feature that will retard your maps a user-defined amount per psi.
