Gay ASS willem Programer....
 

im using the dual power (serial + USB) Willem programmer burns and verifies the bin is loaded ok. When i try to open it on CROME it says "invalid file" Could not load file/.

The dip switches are set correctly.
Im using an sst27sf512 settings , Im using the .97ja version of the willems software.
I erase the chip.
I clear the buffer
Verify that its erased, it says it is.
I load the bin, (bin opens up on crome)
I enter 8000 as the offset.
Hit burn, it burns the program.
Clear the buffer again, read the chip and save it as a "test"
When i try to open it up to see if it worked I get that error

But heres the weird part . When i enter 0 as the offset it burns it ok, and it opens ok on crome. But i thought that it has to be burnt at 8000 so the ecu can read it.

am i doing something wrong? What the ----?

You burn to 0x8000, but are then reading from 0x0000.

That would be my guess. The chip does function correctly, yes?

it wouldnt rev past 3500. and threw a solid CEL.

if you burn it with an offset you're only writing to the 2nd half of the chip. (the offset skips the first half and leaves it blank)
When you read it from the chip you get the full chip ie 1/2 zeros and 2nd half is your bin.
crome won't recognize it, it looks at the first half and it gets all zeros
If you read it from the chip you need to delete the first half, or the 'empty' part.

Check the file sizes, original will be like 32, read from chip will be like 64 or close to it.

Open it in a hex editor or even notepad and delete the first half. Pretty sure it comes up like Y's or something on notepad don't remember.

You can't choose an offset from which to read from?

why are you trying to pull the rom off the chip?
Just save it before the burn.
You have to throw the rom in excel and delete the blank spaces if I remember correctly.
