gauge wiring

ok, well im a ricer and do ---- old school so i have alot of gauge's (fuel pressure, amps, wideband, boost, oil pressure, and a vafcII, my question is what is the best way to power all of these, should i just run the power from all of them, make a little mini harness then just run wire into a fuse ?? or is there something better i should hook them up to, cause i have a 30 amp fuse for my gauge cluster but if i hook it all up when i turn my head lights on my dash lights will shut off but all my gauges power up, i think its drawing all the power from the cluster, whats the best thing to tap into or should i tap into a couple different ones ?? p.s. its a 91 civic if you ddidnt know

Re: gauge wiring

Run a 12 guage wire from the battery with a 20 amp fuse. Might be a little overkill, but then you could power other stuff in the future.

You might also try a distribution block to make wiring up things a little easier.

Re: gauge wiring

thats what i tried but like i said it will just draw power from the dash lights, they dont light up at ill if i spilce into with to much crap, no matter how big of a fuse

Re: gauge wiring

but if you are on a seperate fuse then your insturment cluster, it should not make them dim... dont share the fuse with anything but your "ricer stuff" lol.

unless if you have alot of other electrical ----, like sterio and amped speakers and subs... you might just be pulling to much power overall....that was the problem with my car.....it was just an overall big draw, and the alternator couldnt keep up when i turned on my Highbeams lol... good luck.....
