fuel mapping question

well im still learning tuning and my mentor asked me a question i couldn't answer he asked what do the numbers in the fuel tables represent ie rpm 6,021 and mbar 865 is 458? we are wanting to know what this number means i have searched all over pgmfi and here and even went threw xenocrons tech articles and couldnt find my answer or i over looked it.

Re: fuel mapping question

rpm is obviously how fast the engine is turning :S

mbar - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_(unit)

i know that i ment what does the value mean in the table the highlighted number 458 and so on. is that some kind of number stating how many times an injector fires a milliasecond or what im trying to understand that number.

doubt it has any real world meaning as is. I'm sure there is a way you can convert it to something meaningful, but just think of it is higher number = more fuel. Lower number = less fuel.

There is a conversion to pulse width in M/S that can be done on the fuel #'s. Pretty sure I've read it on PGMFI.org.

i belive it would be that your injectors is open for .458 seconds

It would make sense only if was .0458 sec.

1/(6000rpm/60sec/4strokes) = 0.04sec.

No.

The actual hex value of that entry in the .bin, converted to decimal, and multiplied by 4.

Re: fuel mapping question

That's ------- intuitive ::)

Btw, does the ECU takes these hex values and use them directly to control the PWM?
