Fuel Cell/ Pump/ Filter Install
 

Ive been having trouble with my new project car ( 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST ) I cant seem to get it started. the fuel tank is pretty beat up and the fuel filler neck is cracked and leaking so im jsut gonna say ---- it and install a fuel cell. The only question i have is if i get the fuel to the fuel rail with enough pressure will the FPR do the rest of the work? Im just going to wire the new pump into the stock system and it should work right?

Im going to be running a 12 gallon cell with two -8an outlets and a -6an vent. The pump I will be running will be an aeromotive unit witha free flow rate of 450pph and a max pressure of 65psi with a -8an inlet and -6an outlet. Then to an Earl's Performance -6an inlet/outlet 85 micron fuel filter. The stock system according to the manual requires a system hold pressure of 21 psi and a pump max pressure of 60 psi and a pump hold pressure of 50 Psi.

i think that you might want to buy a fpr and ditch the stock one if your going to spend the $$$ i have that pump and used the same filter i changed the filter to a areomotive one becouse my pump would get worm if i drove the car for 50-75 miles. as far as wireing the pump in to your stock wireing i would wire it in with some 10 gauge wire with a relay . hope this helps and good luck

Ive never used an adj FPR so i wouldnt knwo what to set it to coincide with the stock system. I Just want to know if i get the fuel to the rail will the stock one do the rest of the work. Im just trying to get the damn car running for right now and i figured that i could eliminate and problems related to fuel by making one. im going to remove the return line for now and jsut see if the fuel is getting there if not then ill look at the ignition. does anyone know that if the ignition power transistor is bad if the car will run or not?

if you remove the return line then what...sounds like your just going to cause more problems and still have the old ones. does the current pump turn on?

asfar as i know and what im saying is that i disconnect the return line to see if the fuel is flowing at least that is what i was told to disconnect
