fried ecu if chip is in backwards.
 

i turboed my car and had some problems with the turbo, then i unturboed my car and put the stock chip in backwards, i tried to crank it a few times, trying to diagnoss the problem. so i took the head off (due to other reasons) other thread in the main forum.

my question: well the head is back on and it still wont start, can the chip being in backwards fry the ecu?

ok ecu is not fried. getting spark and fuel. engine cranks and wants to start, then it gives up and just cranks over.

still having problems with compression tester. gotta get a good reading on compression tomorrow :)

Yeah this doesn't sound like an ecu problem. Sounds like a mechanical problem. I put my ecu chip in backwards and all I did was cook the chip. Another try the correct way fixed the problem.
How's the timing on your engine?

taking the engine apart again, tomorrow. gonna have to cough up the money and replace some ----. :)
