Re:Fmu snd Pump on B16a2 99 si
sorry, right now i just have a fmu from a merkur, but it sucks, anything higher that 6psi and it starts pinging, the ratio for the one i have now must suck.

you think im going to blow it to ----?

Re:Fmu snd Pump on B16a2 99 si
Right now at 6 psi and a "noname" fmu, it will probably last a little while like that. It depends on what condition the motor is in. With the pump and 12:1 fmu at 8-9 psi, it will have a short lived life, but you will have fun while it lasts.

Re:Fmu snd Pump on B16a2 99 si
how short lived do you think, i dont even drive the car every day and the vortech kits come with the same fuel management and i dont think they would sell something that wouldnt be reliable??? and a supercharger and turbo are almost the same, would i have to retard my timing with that setup?

Re:Fmu snd Pump on B16a2 99 si
I'm just not a big fan of boosting with no fuel management. Its just risky business. I'm sure people actually use those kits just how they come, but probably not at 9 psi and they are probably the ones you here saying "Ah ----, I blew my ------- motor after only one month of installing my kit". Those kits usually come with a 6 psi pulley.
I'm sure you could run it for a while like that, but do you want to spend the money on a new motor, or go ahead and get some sort of fuel management unit now and save yourself the headache? __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
