Default Re: FMU + FPR Question

the stock fuel pump can flow a lot...but with bigger injectors.

with an FMU it increased the fuel pressure 12 psi for ever 1 psi of boost. so lets say at 10 psi, it will increase pressure by 120 psi, which is a lot.

Walbro pumps suck *** for FMU set ups because they do not flow well at high pressure. For you it would be better to get an inline fuel pump out of a drag or revhard kit and just use that.

Also don't listen to the people telling you to run a chipped ECU only. Chipping an ECU is the best way to go but only if you get it tuned by someone competant. FMU is way better than running on a basemap because for the 99% of the time you are not in boost, then you are running on stock everything as if you didn't even have a turbo.

One guy said he ran for a year on a basemap. Well there are about 234234 people who have run for a lot longer on an FMU and had 0 problems, just make sure you have a good fuel pump...that's the key.
